Who are Wilderness Safaris?

Established over 35 years ago by two young guides in the heart of Botswana, Wilderness Safaris is one of our most passionate partners when it comes to creating life-changing journeys through a pure focus on responsible tourism and the positive impacts a roots-grown company can have on the communities it works with across the continent of Africa.

Tailormade Africa’s connection with Wilderness Safaris

Between the team here at Tailormade Africa, we have personally visited and experienced almost every single one of the 40 gorgeous Wilderness Safaris camps and lodges in Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Kenya, Rwanda and Seychelles. In fact, Clyde even enjoyed a stint guiding with them in 1994! And, since then, we have supported them and all they do.

The Wilderness Safaris offering

The Wilderness Safaris camps and lodges are broken down into three key ‘categories’, starting with their Adventure Camps, stepping up to their Classic Camps and finally their Premier Camps. Each one has a very different look and feel, and it can be quite tricky to get a real appreciation for which one would work best for you. That’s where we come in! With our in-depth knowledge of each camp and lodge and the countries that they are located in, we can give you a bespoke itinerary which is perfectly designed to suit your party’s interests and pocket perfectly.

Consistency and Exclusivity

With each new spot that Wilderness Safaris open we are delighted to trust in their offering not least due to the consistency that we have experienced throughout the collection, but also as they tend to set up in the most exclusive areas. This exclusivity may bring with it a slightly higher price-tag; however, they can promise to provide an experience that is authentic and brought about from an honest dedication to conservation and the local community. They genuinely have an ethos, throughout the company, to give back and make a positive contribution in all things they do.

Not only will you have the opportunity to admire the vast wilderness and wildlife that comes with being in some of the most picturesque and remote spaces in Africa, you will also have the chance to meet some of the most charming, and beautiful local people who will ultimately make your trip one of the most life-changing you will ever have.

And we would love to help you design it.

What makes Wilderness Safaris so special?

As a story born out of a shared passion and love for the natural world and wildlife, Wilderness Safaris have over ten solid beliefs which demonstrate their dedication toward responsible tourism in Africa. These come from their utter desire to conserve and protect some of the most remote and pristine places on this beautiful planet we call home.

As a conservation organisation and responsible ecotourism operator, Wilderness Safaris believe in its vision of the 4Cs:

  • Commerce
  • Conservation
  • Community and
  • Culture – as contributing meaningfully to the wildlife and the people of Africa

These 4Cs are seen throughout the following beliefs which we have outlined for you to check out.
