August 7, 2020We hope so!
For half a year now wildlife and pristine landscapes have been devoid of people. How fantastic does it sound to be among the FIRST to see Africa as the original pioneers did on a Kenya safari, but in absolute style? Not only will we get you there in true luxury with your seats up in Business Class, but your stay will be in style too as you stay in four truly luxurious camps for 12 nights of safari heaven. And, to make it even more exclusive, the journey over will have very little contact with other people and in line with those ever-important social distancing regs!
Restart your travels with this exclusive Kenyan Safari
Being one of the original Great Plains Conservation Return of the Safari Pioneers means that you will be emissaries of HOPE, restarting travel, connecting our world again, playing a role in our collective emotional rediscoveries, health, and strength.
This bold initiative is for you to return home to Africa, to the warm welcome of Africa’s communities and staff, to the conservation-based safaris that are synonymous with Great Plains Conservation and to the spectacle of Mother Nature.
Sounds amazing doesn’t it? We think so, too!
What’s the deal?
Our partners Great Plains Conservation have come up with an incredible initiative so that you can be among the FIRST to return back to the Africa, as it was seen by the original pioneers. They have partnered up with Kenya Airways to offer a series of direct flights from New York to Nairobi (with the inaugural departure on Saturday, the 21st of November 2020) followed by an all-inclusive 12-night safari in four outstanding camps in Kenya.
This curated experience, limited to a maximum of 30 safari pioneers, is perfect for those wanting to immerse themselves in African safari vacation wildlife sightings over the Thanksgiving period!
The safari includes 3 nights of accommodation at three of the Great Plains properties (Mara Plains Camp, Mara Nyika Camp and ol Donyo Lodge), as well as a Great Plains Conservation partner property, Arijiju. The cost for the 12-night safari is U$D42,900 per person sharing including the return flights from the USA.
And, something extra to make you feel even better about treating yourself to this incredible trip - the Return of the Safari Pioneers will include Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) donations worth thousands of dollars for distribution to their Kenyan communities.
Is it safe to travel to Kenya?
Absolutely! Great Plains Conservation have really done their homework. They have very solid protocols when it comes to Covid-19 and have tested their camps and systems thoroughly to ensure your safety for this incredible safari.
Each trip includes exclusive health, customs and immigration formalities allowing guests to be cleared in private lounges and onto virtually Wingtip to Wingtip transfers into the wonderful camps in this itinerary. All of these super high-end camps have been pre-certified from a health and safety standard and qualify as self-quarantine camps that you can move safely between. This safari has been entirely designed around three priorities: Safety, Experience, and Minimal Fuss.
The entire Business Class cabin for each flight has been reserved for this safari, and with the addition of the Great Plains Conservation executive chef’s cuisine being served on board ensures this safari represents a first-class experience!
And – the 30 pioneers who are on this life-changing trip will be split up into three groups of just 10, lowering the actual number of people you’re ever around.
Perfect.
What’s included?
Everything! The cost for the 12-night safari is U$D42,900 per person sharing which includes:
- Return flights from the USA in Business Class seats
- Lounge access in all airports on arrival and departures
- All private inter-camp air transfers
- All meals
- All beverages (premier cellar wine, champagnes and spirits excluded at Arijiju)
- All wildlife sightings and activities
And if that wasn’t enough, it also includes Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) donations worth thousands of dollars for distribution to the Kenyan communities. What a win.
What can you expect from this exclusive trip?
Revel and relax over the 12-night safari as it grows from one experience to the other - from elephants to lions, cheetah, leopard, wildebeest, endless landscapes, great wine, rolling plains and Kilimanjaro herself, that delicately painted mountain shrouded in ‘lace’. Your cuisine is expertly prepared (naturally with safety and hygiene top of mind of course) but catered to every one of you including your personal taste and allergies. These camps truly are well known for their personal touches!
After 12 nights on safari, you hit rewind and travel in reverse, with two major differences: it is of course seamless but now you truly are a Pioneer loaded with memories, your lives are changed forever AND you know that in the hold of the 787 tons of donated PPE have been left in Africa, helping those in the local communities, making life better and assured you played a starring role in bringing much needed tourism back to Africa.
