July 11, 2022The Morley & Miller Family are going on Safari in Tanzania!
If you didn’t know, Rob is one of the founders of Tailormade Africa and one of the most respected people in the safari planning industry. Rob lived and worked in East Africa for a time before a career of to date 16 years designing safari itineraries and travelling extensively throughout the continent.
Rob’s most recent trip to Africa was for his honeymoon, where he and his wife, Sophie, had a beautiful time in Kenya.
This next trip to Tanzania in June will be a celebratory family safari trip with the in-laws. This will include his wife, Sophie, her mom and dad, Steve & Noreen, and her sisters Claire & Ellen.
Here's what they have planned!
Rob will be staying at these luxury hotels, lodges, and tented camps with his family on their trip to Tanzania. Tanzania is one of the many destinations that Rob is an expert in.
Rob has been lucky enough to travel extensively in East and Southern Africa over the years, both for pleasure and for work. He has visited many areas and experienced countless accommodations (both good and bad!). He has had some truly wonderful experiences there. So do not worry you are in good hands when planning a trip with him!! This trip will be slightly more laid back giving him plenty of time to spend with his family.
Hyatt Regency Dar es Salaam The Kilimanjaro
This modern oasis is situated in the heart of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. The five-star hotel’s superb waterfront location, spectacular views of the harbour and Indian Ocean.
Rob and his family can look forward to delicious dining in the hotel’s two renowned restaurants: The Palm and The Oriental, offering a wide choice, from European specialties and classic Swahili dishes to fresh sushi and sashimi and other Asian classics.
They can spend their days lounging in the infinity pool or unwinding at the at Anantara Spa. Their evenings will be spent overlooking the panoramic views of the city and harbour, while enjoying the live music and cocktails.
Jabali Ridge
Set high on a rocky kopje overlooking a landscape dotted with bulbous baobabs, Jabali Ridge is a sophisticated base from which to explore Ruaha National Park.
Rob and his family will enjoy an exceptional safari experience. There are just eight suites hidden amongst the rocky boulders that cocoon the property, designed to blend in with the environment.
This facility boasts a spectacular four-way infinity pool overlooking the baobab valley, a spa offering pampering treatments, a gin bar to tempt you with pre-and post-dinner refreshment, and plenty of space to unwind when you aren't on safari.
Siwandu
Broadly spaced along the shore of Lake Nzerakera, with the BehoBeho mountains in the distance, Siwandu's spacious and stylish safari tents ensure maximum privacy.
Rob can soak up the sights and sounds of the African bush, observing animals as they saunter past.
Rob and his family can explore the breath-taking landscape by foot on a morning game walk, by 4WD vehicles with an expert driver-guide and on the water with boat cruises on both the river and on the lake.
The Manta Resort
Pemba is a remote island off the east coast of Africa and home to the tranquil Manta Resort,, offering complete serenity and close encounters with nature.
Rob and his family can switch off and relax at this coastal retreat. They can look forward to the many activities including snorkelling, fishing, star gazing, and of course the spectacular wildlife.
If you can believe it, there is even an underwater room at this resort that requires a 2-minute wooden boat ride to the accommodation. You can spend your time on your private floating island, enjoying many water activities such as kayaking and snorkelling.
Zanzibar Serena Hotel
Idyllically situated on the seafront of ancient Stone Town. The Zanzibar Serena Hotel is a haven of tranquillity and opulence among the bustle of one of Africa's ancient and enchanting towns.
Rob and his family will spend their time lounging on hammocks on their private balconies. They can explore the exotic mix of sultan's palaces, Portuguese forts, ancient dhow harbours and bright bazaars. Other highlights include sunset dhow cruises; spice tours to aromatic distilleries; and neighbouring Changuu Island, home to stunning sandy beaches, a historic prison, and dozens of giant ancient tortoises.
