The Beaty Family’s First African Safari

Clyde is our very own safari genius (and co-founder of Tailormade Africa) who has a love for Africa like no other.

He was born in Norway but emigrated to Zimbabwe when he was 7 years old. After moving to the UK and having a family of his own, he has been dreaming of the day that he could take them to Africa to share his passion and knowledge of the continent with them.

Well, the time has come and we cannot wait to show you what he gets up to as he takes his children on their very first African safari! 😀 😀

Here's what he has planned!

Clyde is going to be staying at these luxury resorts and lodges with his family on their trip to South Africa. He is a firm believer in only recommending places to his guests that he has stayed at himself, so he is looking forward to experiencing some of them for the first time and returning to the one's he has previously enjoyed on past trips.

Clyde and his family will be staying at the luxurious waterfront resort in the heart of the Mother City, One&Only Cape Town. It provides a vibrant experience for the whole family and has uninterrupted views of the beautiful Table Mountain.

Babylonstoren Wine Estate

Babylonstoren is one of the oldest Cape Dutch farms, set at the foot of Simonsberg in the Franschhoek wine valley. It has a fruit and vegetable garden of beauty and diversity, unique accommodation, fine food and wine, and evokes a sense of wellbeing.

It is perfect for the whole family with gorgeous gardens, a bakery, restaurants and family-friendly facilities. This is the ideal place where Clyde will let his children explore and run wild.

Chitwa Chitwa

Kambaku Safari Lodge

Nestled in the heart of the world renowned Timbavati Private Nature Reserve part of the Greater Kruger National Park, lies Kambaku Safari Lodge. Clyde looks forward to a luxury 4-star experience here with his family. The owners of the lodge are very family-focused and are determined to raise their kids in an environment where nature and wildlife are part of their daily lives.

They have a wonderful children’s programme that is aimed at educating and entertaining young minds.
