Kwihala Camp is set deep in the bush of Ruaha National Park. It’s the largest national park in Tanzania, with plentiful wildlife, yet it feels remote and peaceful, with fewer visitors than other parks.
Kwihala Camp is set deep in the bush on a hillside, with fantastic views out over the park in the game rich central area of Ruaha, close to it's sister camp Jabali Ridge. Those in the know, seek out safari adventures in Africa’s less-travelled wildernesses like remote Ruaha, which is also host to 10% of the world’s lion population. This game-rich conservation area and the sheer comfort of the camp provide an exceptional wilderness experience. The main area – with its tented lounge and dining room – is the social heart of the camp. Meals are shared either under canvas or in the alfresco dining area beside the campfire, accompanied only by the stirring night sounds of the bush. Just 6 tents in a simple, yet elegant safari style, all with ensuite bathroom facilities, a flushing toilet, bucket shower and each tent has a veranda. The main area has a tented lounge and dining room and meals are shared either under canvas or in the alfresco dining area beside the campfire. The activities include game drives, night drives and walking safaris. There is a family tent available that sleep 4 people and the minimum age is 5 years old at Kwihala.
The tented lounge and dining room is the social heart of the camp, where you’ll enjoy meals with fellow guests and chill out in the afternoon. After sunset, sit around the campfire to share safari stories over a couple of G&Ts.
Kwihala Camp has six large guest tents with a fantastic view of the Mwagusi Sand River. The tents can be configured as twins and doubles, and a triple room is available on request. The tents all feature king-sized beds, and en suite bathrooms with flushable
