Kichaka Expeditions is the perfect getaway for families and friends looking for an intimate and private safari experience at either Kichaka Zumbua, Kidogo or Wild.
Kichaka Camp offers one of Southern Tanzania's best walking safari experiences, with professional guide Andrew (Moli) Molinaro, and along with his partner Noelle the camp offers a superbly hosted intimate safari experience. Kichaka prides itself on operating in rugged, remote, and wild areas where the emphasis is on the bush itself, not opulent extravagance. Nonetheless, even in these remote locations, they fully cater to all the necessary luxuries at this small and intimate bush camp.
From the back-to-basics nature of the flycamp to the more sophisticated luxury of the permanent tented camp, you will always have access to steaming hot showers with stunning scenic views, comfortable beds to retire in after a hard day, friendly hosts, good food, and most importantly, ice-filled Gin and Tonics to welcome in the starry nights. This unique blend of wild adventure and secluded comfort provides a truly authentic safari getaway.

Zumbua Suites
Situated atop a remote ridge in the Eastern Corner of Ruaha, this stunning and luxurious camp blends in perfectly with its rocky backdrop overlooking perhaps the most scenic section of the entire Ruaha River valley.
About as comfortable as it is possible to get in such isolation, these elegant yet rustic rooms share sweeping views and are the perfect dwelling away from the hot sun when not out on safari. Each room consists of a central airy and spacious tent with thatched roof and raised platform base, open in the day to allow for views and breeze, but closed in the night for safety and complete bug protection. Adjoining each tent sits a lavish bathroom complete with flushing loo, bathtub and outdoor shower and because there is never too many options on how one can refresh oneself, on the other side of the tent is your own personal plunge pool for that instant gratification after your morning activities.
Kidogo Flycamping
Perhaps the most raw and traditional way to enhance any safari experience. Mobility is the key here, the well designed and lightweight flycamp allows for a few days foray into the really wild sections of Ruaha Park, it can be erected within a few hours and allows you to drift deeper into the Wilderness once you have familiarized yourself with the areas around Zumbua camp.
Kichaka Untamed easily opens up fresh walking and exploration areas without the need to travel big distances several times daily to return to Zumbua camp. Simple and basic yet perfectly comfortable, the flycamp can accommodate six guests in three tents each with adjoining private bucket showers and toilets. Travel cots ensure a good night's sleep, waking only for the night sounds before a full day's exploration. With a feel of complete informality, meals will be fresh prepared on the camp fire itself while you nurse a cold beer and contemplate the next days activities.
Kichaka Wild
Kichaka Wild, a 7-night expedition into the remote corners of Ruaha National Park, is an unparalleled way to uncover the richness and variety of this pristine ecosystem. Renowned for its immense wilderness and diverse landscapes, Ruaha presents endless possibilities to explore untouched areas, some even uncharted by park rangers.
Personally guided by Andrew Molinaro, Kichaka Wild offers the ideal adventure for thrill-seekers yearning to embody the spirit of a modern-day explorer. From ascending the towering Kopjes of Mpululu to wandering through the serene forests of Kilola Star, guests will unveil Ruaha's hidden treasures in some of the planet's last remaining true wildernesses.
Typically situated along riverbanks or nestled within nearby forests, the camp comprises three dome tents, each equipped with a private bucket shower and short-drop loo. Activities primarily revolve around walking safaris, though game drives and night drives are also available to fully immerse guests in these new frontiers.
Each expedition is booked privately and tailored to the specific interests of each guest. Kichaka Wild offers four distinct remote locations for guests to choose from.
Zumbua Bandas (coming soon 2024/25)
The same exact features as the Zumbua Suites, but without the plunge pool and accompanying outside structure.
This addition of three new luxury tents means Kichaka will have a total of six luxury tents.
