Tarangire is famed for its massive elephant herds, true sense of wilderness and a gentle backdrop of baobabs. It is the lesser visited but more intriguing park on the northern circuit.
Tarangire Ndovu Tented Lodge is located in the heart of Tarangire, Tanzania’s wild land and landscapes. There are 12 permanent tents made up of ten standard suites, and 2 x two bed room inter-connected family suites. The camp is open all year around and especially during the dry months, the massive elephant herds travel through the corridor between Manyara and Tarangire and spend their time in and around the park. This is because of their ability to uncover permanent sources of fresh water. We endeavour to retain the uniqueness and intimacy of the camp, while being directed by the location, wildlife and other factors of responsible tourism. Tarangire Ndovu is best suited for the more adventurous travellers and is a prime location for viewing elephants as they move through the park.

The tents have netted windows down each side of the tent, roll up the canvas and let the breeze flow through while still creating a romantic private feel with light weight curtains to dance on the draft. From the entrance of the bedroom and onto the bathroom, each tent is fitted with an extensive solar lighting system for your convenience. Please consider careful and responsible use of water and lighting when at the camp, to extend accessibility for all.
Each tent is 20m long by 8m wide and framed with wooden logs, metal piping and then wrapped in heavy duty safari rip-stop canvas made locally at Morogoro, southern Tanzania, plus the additional cooling feature of shade-clothing over the entire tent. The family suites are two bed rooms inter-connected.
