Kinondo Kwetu is your African ‘home away from home’ where you unwind by either doing nothing at all or by choosing to be involved in a whole range of activities. This more personal experience of the Kenyan coast is the perfect way to finish off a holiday with a luxury Kenya safari.

Kinondo Kwetu & the Indian Ocean bliss

Kinondo Kwetu is situated at the far end of the remote Galu Beach, south of Diani beach. The nearest hotel is 2 km away and so the beach is really private. You can lay on a sunbed and admire the vast Indian Ocean or grab a foldable beach chair and sit with your feet in the incoming tide.

Activities at Kinondo Kwetu

Kinondo Kwetu has a wide range of different activities for all ages, for you to choose from if you don’t want to just lay on a sunbed all day. Horse-riding on the beach, in sacred ‘Kaya’ forests and paddock – their stables are on site. Tennis is available with a coach at their very own plexipaved Tennis Court. Off-site excursions include cultural visits to Kinondo Village & Kinondo Kwetu Community works, golf, game drives within Shimba Hills National, shopping, sight-seeing trips to Ukunda or Mombasa. Tailor-made safaris day trips can also be arranged.

There are a wide variety of watersports available at Kinondo Kwetu. These include kite surfing (courses available off site but close by), deep-sea fishing, windsurfing, water skiing, Stand up paddleboarding. Then there are also boat excursions to ‘Paradise Lost’ island, scuba diving (ranging from first PADI diving lessons to advanced reef dives and international diving ‘passport’), snorkelling, sailing & canoeing, and a wood-fired sauna.

Yoga & exercise classes are also available daily or on request, and personal training can also be booked. There is a gym with basic amenities available, including a magnificent sea view.

Accommodation

You have the option of eight suites, which consists of four upstairs and four downstairs. The Andersson room is also the Honeymoon Suite. It consists of a double bedroom with enough space for 2-3 children. The Borelius Suite is perfect for families with a spacious ensuite double room connecting to a large ensuite twin or triple room. There are also five cottages to choose from and then the Main House Mama Tina Villa, which is ideal for children and singles.
