Stay on the edge of the Atlantic, with Cape Town's V&A Waterfront just moments away.
Set directly on the Atlantic Ocean at Granger Bay, Radisson Collection Hotel, Waterfront Cape Town gives you something slightly different from staying inside the V&A Waterfront itself. You're still within easy reach of its restaurants, shops and attractions, but the hotel has a more open, oceanfront setting where the views and proximity to the water are a big part of the stay.
With 175 rooms and suites, an ocean-facing restaurant and terrace, infinity pool, spa and a choice of marina, mountain and ocean views, it works particularly well if you want the facilities of a full-service Cape Town hotel while still feeling connected to the city's coastline.
Why stay at Radisson Collection Hotel, Waterfront Cape Town?
The location is the main reason we'd consider the Radisson Collection. It sits right at the water's edge in Granger Bay, between the V&A Waterfront and Sea Point, rather than in the busier heart of the Waterfront precinct.
That gives you easy access to Cape Town's major attractions while providing somewhere to return to where the Atlantic Ocean is immediately outside the hotel. Table Mountain, the city centre, Bo-Kaap, Sea Point and the V&A Waterfront are all within easy reach, making it a practical base if Cape Town is the starting or finishing point of a longer South African itinerary.
There's also enough at the hotel to make spending some downtime here worthwhile. Tobago's Restaurant, Bar & Terrace overlooks the ocean, there's an infinity pool for warmer Cape Town days, and Amani Spa & Wellness provides a good option if you've arrived after a long international flight or simply want a quieter day between sightseeing.
Accommodation at Radisson Collection Hotel, Waterfront Cape Town
The hotel offers 175 rooms and suites, ranging from comfortable Superior Rooms to much larger ocean-facing suites. The important differences are not simply the room sizes: depending on the category you choose, you can prioritise marina, mountain or ocean views, add a private balcony, or opt for the additional space offered by the suites.

Collection Superior Room
A comfortable choice if your days will be spent out exploring Cape Town, with a calm, contemporary space to return to afterwards. At 26 m², it's the most straightforward of the room categories, with your choice of twin beds or a king-size bed.

Collection Superior Room – Partial Ocean View
A little more space and your first glimpse of what makes this hotel's setting special. At 36 m², the room offers partial views of the Atlantic — a lovely reminder when you wake up in the morning that you're staying right on Cape Town's coastline.

Collection Superior Room – Marina View
Here it's all about the outlook. The room remains a comfortable 26 m², but views across the marina bring the hotel's waterfront setting into the room and make this a worthwhile choice if you'd rather wake up looking towards the boats and water.

Collection Superior Room – Mountain View
Cape Town doesn't make choosing a view particularly easy. This 36 m² room turns away from the ocean and towards the city's mountain backdrop instead — one we'd consider if waking up to Cape Town's mountains appeals to you more than a water view.

Collection Superior Room with Balcony – Partial Ocean View
This is where the room choices start getting particularly interesting. Step out onto your own balcony with a coffee in the morning or a drink at the end of the day and take in partial views of the Atlantic. At 40 m², there's also a little more room inside, but the private outdoor space is the real reason we'd choose this category.

Collection Premium Room with Balcony – Marina View
With 48 m² of space and your own balcony overlooking the marina, this is a lovely option if you plan to spend more time enjoying the hotel rather than simply using it as a base for sightseeing. There's enough extra room to settle in properly, while the balcony gives you somewhere private to sit and enjoy the waterfront setting.

Junior Suite with Balcony – Ocean View
Now the hotel's position on the Atlantic really starts earning its keep. The 63 m² Junior Suite opens onto a private balcony with ocean views, giving you considerably more room to relax and somewhere to sit outside with the Atlantic in front of you. With space for two adults and two children aged 12 or younger, this would be one of our first choices for families who don't want to compromise on the view.

Suite with Balcony – Ocean View
If you're staying for several nights, the additional space here starts to make a real difference. At 84 m², there's plenty of room to settle in rather than simply sleep, while the private balcony and Atlantic views make spending time back at the hotel part of the Cape Town experience. It also accommodates two adults and two children aged 12 or younger, making it particularly appealing for families wanting more breathing room.

Presidential Suite with Balcony – Ocean View
This is the one for making the hotel itself part of the occasion. At 127 m², the Presidential Suite gives you the most generous accommodation in the hotel, together with a private balcony overlooking the Atlantic. With space for up to four adults and two children aged 12 or younger, it also becomes an interesting option for families or friends travelling together who'd rather share one exceptional space than book separate rooms.
What is it like to stay at Radisson Collection Hotel, Waterfront Cape Town?
This is a larger, full-service city hotel rather than a small boutique property, and that's important when deciding whether it suits the kind of Cape Town stay you're looking for.
Its advantage is the combination of location and facilities. You can spend the day exploring Cape Town and come back to an infinity pool overlooking the Atlantic, have dinner beside the ocean at Tobago's, book a treatment at Amani Spa or simply make the most of a room with a balcony and water view.
The oceanfront position also gives the hotel a different atmosphere from properties surrounded by the shops, restaurants and pedestrian traffic of the V&A Waterfront itself. You're close to that activity when you want it, without necessarily having it immediately outside your bedroom.
Where is Radisson Collection Hotel, Waterfront Cape Town?
Radisson Collection Hotel, Waterfront Cape Town is at 100 Beach Road in Granger Bay, directly on the Atlantic coastline between the V&A Waterfront and Sea Point.
The V&A Waterfront is approximately 1.3 km away, while Table Mountain is around 5.5 km from the hotel. Sea Point Promenade and Bo-Kaap are also nearby, giving you easy access to several very different parts of Cape Town from one base.
Cape Town International Airport is approximately 24 km away. This makes the hotel particularly convenient at the beginning or end of a South African holiday, whether you're continuing into the Winelands, travelling along the coast or connecting with a safari elsewhere in the country.

Dining, wellness and experiences at Radisson Collection Hotel, Waterfront Cape Town
Tobago's Restaurant, Bar & Terrace is one of the hotel's strongest features, not simply because it's convenient to have a restaurant on site but because of its position overlooking the Atlantic. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here, and the terrace makes particularly good use of the hotel's oceanfront location.
Amani Spa & Wellness has eleven treatment rooms, including two couples' suites, as well as a salt room, Rasul treatment room, hair salon and heated vitality pool. There's also a fully equipped fitness centre that's open 24 hours a day.
Outside the hotel, you're well positioned for exploring Cape Town. The V&A Waterfront, Table Mountain, Bo-Kaap, Sea Point and the city's restaurants and attractions can all form part of your stay, while the Cape Winelands and Cape Peninsula can be visited on day trips.
Is Radisson Collection Hotel, Waterfront Cape Town right for you?
We'd consider the Radisson Collection particularly if you want a full-service hotel with genuine ocean frontage but don't necessarily want to stay in the middle of the V&A Waterfront itself.
It's also a strong option if the view from your room matters, as the range of marina, mountain and ocean-facing categories lets you choose according to what you value rather than simply moving through increasingly expensive room types.
Families have useful suite options, while couples can choose anything from a straightforward Superior Room to a balcony room or ocean-facing suite depending on how much time they expect to spend at the hotel.
If your priority is being able to walk straight out of your hotel into the shops and restaurants at the centre of the V&A Waterfront, we'd consider accommodation within the precinct itself. If you'd rather have the Atlantic immediately outside, with the Waterfront still close by, the Radisson Collection becomes much more interesting.
