The dreamy River Deck Safari Tents take prime position in a beautiful, private space overlooking the river. The spacious tents may be left open to the sound of the river to be appreciated from a king-size bed dressed with white linen. Another special feature is the private deck overlooking the mighty Zambezi to enjoy sunset views over the river and bushveld beyond.
The free-standing tents are set well apart from one another, with approximately 20 metres separating each tent. The en-suite bathrooms each have a large indoor shower and a separate outdoor shower so that you may shower under open African skies. Nothing quite beats lying back on soft, white linen at the end of a fun day, to the night sounds of wildlife – maybe an owl hooting softly, a hyena calling or even lions roaring (safely across the river!)

December 19, 2023At Tsowa Safari Island you can embark on a Zambezi island safari adventure of a lifetime. Stay on your own luxury private island near Victoria Falls.
Tsowa Safari Island is situated in the Zambezi National Park, a mere 40km upstream from the Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwe side of the Zambezi River. This is a surreal place, gently set apart from the busy world. The island is fringed by a beautiful forest, while a soft sand path leads inward to a cluster of century-old baobabs. This is the safari island of Tsowa, a pioneer-inspired tented camp placed on the river, steeped in luxury and considered space. Disconnect from the hustle of real life & relax in this wild piece of Zimbabwe.
Wake to the calls of the resident Pel’s Fishing Owl and the soundtrack of the crickets. Fall asleep to the calls of hyenas and lions. Tsowa placed the luxury tented camp on a site chosen for its magnificent forest canopy and enormous termite mound resting gently alongside the lounge. The golden green light pours through the trees and forest vines in the early morning and late afternoon. The fire pit deck is suspended over the Zambezi River, and afternoons can be spent watching the reflection of the sunset over the Zambezi National Park as animals come down to drink.
This Luxury Safari Lodge near Victoria Falls celebrates the comfort and connection we have in observing nature. Carefully curated to establish a sense of peace and place, this bespoke camp is a homage to the joy of life under canvas in Africa.
Whether it’s tinkling G ’n T glasses at sunset, or a mug of freshly brewed coffee around our early morning campfire, experience the wonder of life in a pioneering camp that is organic, modern and elegant. Enjoy the rich tapestry of a day on safari. The safari tented camp comprises a stylish lounge and dining area for 16 guests. The bar tent is adjacent to this main living area. The vast outside deck makes the most of its river-front setting, and is also in the cool forest. It has an open-air dining area flowing onto a sunken fire-pit which overlooks the river. The main lodge is linked to the pool which is in a sunny spot, from which you may enjoy your favourite cold drink while watching the river glide by.
River View Safari Tent
The large airy River View Safari Tents are nestled on the edge of the island on the banks of the Zambezi River under the shade of deep forest. Each tent has a small covered verandah set on the river’s edge and looks directly across to the Zambezi National Park on the mainland. Wildlife frequents the water’s edge in the late afternoon and early morning. All rooms have a private verandah, indoor & outdoor shower, separate toilet, freestanding fan, mosquito net and a safe.
The free-standing tents are set well apart from one another, with approximately 20 metres separating each tent.
