August 13, 2021Singita Sabora is a destination perfect for travellers yearning for an African safari infused with the continent’s contemporary energy and enveloped in unrivalled levels of comfort.
Offering Africa’s most restorative safari experience under canvas, Singita Sabora Tented Camp awakens the senses and its seamless combination of private indoor and outdoor spaces allows for continuous game-viewing, reconnecting with nature and oneself, and finding much-needed stillness.
The main lodge area offers a unique “Guest Deli” features wicker baskets and fridges filled with gourmet bites, where guests can select treats to enjoy in their suites, as well as a separate pool area, two intimate dining spaces and an open-plan bar and lounge – all adding to Sabora’s understated look, which emphasises tailored luxury.
Offering superb game-viewing opportunities all year round, the camp is also set on the Great Wildebeest Migration route; and guided game walks on foot enhance experiencing the Serengeti up close. The nine self-contained suites all include private pantries, dining and fitness areas, as well as meditation decks, where guests can rest, relax and immerse themselves in wellness activities like outdoor yoga, while outdoor salas with secluded daybeds overlooking one of Sabora’s two waterholes make for uninterrupted game-viewing.
With the tented suites set close to the ground, every sight, sound and smell of the bush is amplified and bespoke glass panelling welcome the Serengeti plains inside. Echoing the earthy colour palette of the bush, modern interpretations of campaign furniture evoke the timeless spirit of East African adventures.
Situated in the Sabora Plains above the Grumeti River, Sabora has 6 spacious tents, all with ensuite bathrooms, a flushing toilet, bath and an outdoor shower, and each tent has its own private deck. The Great Migration surrounds the whole camp and it’s often common for a few Wildebeests to fall into the pool. When it isn’t the Great Migration, the camp offers magnificent views of other wildlife. Activities include archery, game drives in an open safari vehicle and nature walks.
Singita Sabora features mindfully created interiors with a rich combination of textures, forward-thinking and functional aesthetics, and a modern interpretation of the quintessential elements of a romantic tented safari.
