Olakira Migration Camp South

The mobile Olakira Migration Camp follows the wildebeest migration around the Serengeti, from the epic river crossings in the north to the southern plains where they give birth to thousands of calves each year.

Fine linens, fine dining and a touch of nomadic romance are the hallmarks of the superb Olakira Migration Camp, which all but disappears into the surrounding African bush. Combined with unbeatable hospitality and highly knowledgeable guides, Olakira treats you to an unusually personal and authentic East African wilderness experience. The mess and dining tents echo the style and ambience of the rooms, with panoramic views of the sprawling Serengeti plains. Spend the afternoon relaxing in an armchair in the mess area or get comfortable under the shade of the surrounding trees and simply watch the game pass by. When darkness falls, dinner is served either under canvas or beneath a glittering canopy of stars in a small clearing close by, accompanied by the night sounds of the bush.

Located in the Ndutu area, there are 9 safari tents which includes one family tent all with ensuite bathrooms, flushing toilets and a shower and their own veranda. The camp provides the viewing of the Great Migration spreading across the southern plains. The aim of this camp is to get you as close to the action as possible. Olakira Migration Camp is rustic but luxurious which makes it popular for honeymoons.

The canvas tents are designed to blend into the bush without leaving a trace,  though that doesn’t mean we scrimp on comforts. Admire the sprawling plains of the Serengeti or Ndutu region from the dining tent, or spend a leisurely afternoon in an armchair, watching zebras or Thomson’s gazelles pass by. After dark, dinner is served under the stars.

Double Room

Olakira’s nine tents offer a modern take on the vintage charm of East Africa. Each has a king-sized bed (twin beds are available) complete with rich linens, an under-cover veranda with comfortable chaise longue, and en-suite bathroom and dressing area with hot-water safari bucket showers and flushing toilets.

Family Tent

Olakira Mobile Camp features 2 family or triple tents. These tents are spacious and have king sized, double and single beds to suit guests individual needs while staying at Olakira Camp. The tents also feature en-suite bathrooms, flushable toilets and bucket showers. The tents also have incredible views of the surrounding landscape.
