Set plum in the middle of one of the richest game areas in the Serengeti, this bush home from home is designed specifically with little children in mind, as well as being a great place for groups of friends.
Mkombes House Lamai is a self-contained private house for ten, totally designed around families, is charm itself, and set plum in the middle of one of Serengeti’s richest mammal habitats.
Solitary under huge skies and amidst the great grassland plains, it grants complete freedom from other people and schedules. It’s also excitement-central: a lively base for expertly guided forays into the bush: scouting buffalo, elephants, lion, crocodiles – and the famous wildebeest river crossings.
Nomad founder, Mkombe Mniko, was a guide who cherished this area and connected strongly with children – and their parents. He would have seriously loved it here. And so will anyone who stays in this house they named after him.
Situated in the Kogakuria Kopjes, Mkombes House has 4 rooms, two suitable for children. All have ensuite bathrooms. It is one of the most child friendly lodges in the Serengeti. The biggest attraction is the great migration, however, there is plenty of other wildlife to be seen. The house provides views across the valley towards the Mara River and of the Lamai Wedge.
All bedrooms are open fronted with endless views over the Nothern Serengeti or spend a night under the stars on your private veranda.
A beautiful, open fronted double room with netting that can be zipped closed. Each room has an en-suite bathroom with a shower and hot and cold running water plus a flush toilet. Beds have mosquito nets. Each room has a view and a verandah.
A specially designed children's room nearby the adult room, with en-suite bathroom, hot and cold running water, a shower and flush toilet. The children's room is secure and is not open-fronted. Each bed has a mosquito net.
