June 13, 2020Are you feeling locked-up and closed in? Namibia, being one of the most sparsely populated countries on earth, is the perfect place to be surrounded by space and feel the freedom to move.
A safari to Namibia is mostly about spectacular desert scenery and wide-open landscapes. The exception being in the spectacular Etosha National Park where the main wildlife sightings can be found. Palmwag, Mowe Bay, Skeleton Coast National Park and Demaraland also host springbok, giraffe, elephant, desert-adapted lion, brown hyena and oryx.
Come and see the massive and majestic dunes of Sossusvlei, and the Etosha Pan to get a heavy dose of large animal sightings with relative ease. The Atlantic Ocean provides a welcome relief from the desert at Swakopmund and Walvis Bay, where the marine wildlife is especially rich.
In order to reach the most remote and truly special parts of Namibia though, you will need to fly. These flights are one of the most spectacular you are likely to experience anywhere. You will be rewarded with almost unshared access to the untouched Skeleton Coast and Kunene regions. This wilderness is also home to the fascinating Himba and Herero tribes who still maintain their traditional way of life.
We're excited to offer you a few specials to visit this incredible country, Namibia, throughout 2021. Take a look at them here.

A Wonderful Namibian Flying Safari - 8 Night Safari
Enjoy an incredible all-inclusive 8-night safari which takes in some of Namibia's most amazing spots. Each lodge that you will stay in is quirky, stylish and full of character. We think you'll love them as much as we do, from the thatched, air-conditioned rooms at Kwessi Dunes, to the elegant tents at Hoanib Valley, the award-winning design of Shipwreck Lodge and finally the vistas at Safarihoek Lodge which have to be some of the best in the business.
All the lodges have ensuite bathrooms, plenty of hot water and airy main living areas, whilst Kwessi, Hoanib and Safarihoek all have swimming pools – the perfect way to escape the desert heat. At these three beauties you'll eat dinner under the stars and retire to the campfire for post-dinner safari tales and digestifs, whilst at Shipwreck Lodge, you'll dine in the ship-style dining room, surrounded by candelabras and old silverware.
And, you really will be in for a treat with the exciting game-viewing at Etosha Heights Private Reserve, a 60,000-hectare private reserve that shares a border with the famous Etosha National Park. A Namibian Family Adventure – 13 Night Safari
Tailormade Africa believes in providing great opportunities for families to come on safari. Our positive approach means that we allocate a specialist guide to family safaris who is trained and caring, and who can help to inspire children to learn and love the wilderness.
Family Safari's get allocated their own private vehicle and their own guide who will look after them from the start to the end of their Namibian safari.
The programs offered vary between each family and are based partly on the ages, sex, and interests of the children. Our guide's aim is to not only keep the children entertained but also to ensure that they learn about what they get to see. Generally, activities include mammal, bird and plant identification as well as learning about night sounds and tracking some of the smaller creatures such as lizards and beetles. For family safaris, we also choose to stay in camps/lodges/hotels where staff are accustomed to children and also happy to involve the children in duties where possible - and they are often found helping to prepare snacks in the kitchen with the chefs (NOTE: this is obviously subject to the particular camps/lodges/hotels used). In essence, the children are either busy or asleep but always happy. We all know that happily busy children mean a relaxing holiday for mum and dad!
Family safaris are not in any way lesser or 'watered down' safaris; they still offer great areas, top guides and excellent experiences, but with the high degree of flexibility that families often need.
For from $20,030 for two adults and two children aged 6 – 12 years you will get to enjoy an incredible all-inclusive 13-night safari. This offer is being extended for travel throughout 2021 is valid for all new bookings only.
Our special rates have been calculated as per each itinerary listed, however, should you wish to add extra nights we can with pleasure tailor an itinerary to you personally - everything we do is bespoke, after all! If, due to connecting flights, you require an overnight in Windhoek, we can arrange this as an addition to the core package.
Let us tailor-make your ideal Nambia safari holiday. Feel free to pick up the phone or pop us an email, and we'll help you to plan your bespoke Namibia safari holiday with us – and by doing so, help us to support those most in need on the ground.
