Camps Bay Retreat through the eyes of an 11-year-old
Clyde Beaty (Co-founder of Tailormade Africa) took his family on their very first African Safari adventure. 11-year-old James, Clyde's son, has created blogs about each of his experiences during his first ever safari and trip to Africa! Here is his account of his amazing adventure at Camps Bay Retreat!
Arriving at Camps Bay Retreat
When you first arrive a member of staff will take your baggage from you to your room. Then, when your room is ready a member of staff will direct you to your room.
The first thing that you will notice is that to get to your room you will have to cross a very cool looking bridge (my family and I would run across it as fast as we could.)
Next, you will notice a lovely pool in front of you which is just the right size for the family to fit into. When you enter your room, you will be greeted by a very big bungalow filled with comfy furniture, a large sized TV and a balcony where you can sit back and relax.
Exploring Camps Bay Retreat & surrounds
At the hotel, there are mini paths that lead to mysterious locations (I remember finding a rope swing that flings you into the canopy.
Camps Bay Retreat is right next to Camps Bay Beach which has plenty of big rocks to climb and sand to make enormous sandcastles! The waves can get very big which is a great opportunity for surfing if you are brave enough to enter them.
There are plenty of restaurants and cafes for you to enjoy and shops that have the most wonderful things in. I remember my mum and dad buying a poster of a rainbow-coloured lion!
Camps Bay Retreat is the perfect destination for adventurous people or people who like to relax and explore a lot. I loved this place and hope that you love it to!
