Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge is the home of the Rhino and is rooted in Rhino Conservation. Rhino Ridge is proud to be associated with the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park and its historical success story of rhino conservation in Southern Africa. We are honoured to call the “home of the rhino” our home, too. We are the first luxury safari lodge to be established within this world-renowned Big 5 game reserve, which is also home to thriving populations of African wild dogs, lions, elephants, and multitudes of other species.

18 well appointed, air-conditioned rooms nestle on a ridge, each with their own private deck giving expansive and uninterrupted views of the reserve.

The lodge facilities are designed to enhance your experience by complementing the exquisite surrounding wilderness. Rhino Ridge is designed to ‘bring the outdoors in' by incorporating open spaces and maximising the expansive views over the reserve. One of the aspects that we are most proud of at Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge is this shared community ownership of the lodge and our commitment to the empowerment of the previously disadvantaged local community of Hlabisa.

Safari Room

The four Safari Rooms are configured in pairs and comprise a shared entrance lobby leading off to two separate bedrooms. Each bedroom has a private bathroom with a double vanity and shower, opening out onto a small viewing deck. The bedroom has a glass sliding door that opens onto a deck, which is screened from guests in the neighbouring room, ensuring your complete privacy.

The Safari Rooms have a private deck, double vanity, separate toilet, air conditioning, overhead fans, mini bar, safe, hairdryer, and tea and coffee making facilities.

Luxury Bush Villa

The eight Luxury Bush Villas feature a spacious, open-plan design with a lounge area, an open fireplace and a large viewing deck. The large bathrooms with rain showers that open onto the outdoors are a guest favourite, along with luxurious bathtubs with wide windows that look directly onto the wild African bush.

All rooms have a private deck, double vanity, separate toilet, air conditioning, overhead fans, mini bar, mosquito nets, safe, hair dryer, and tea and coffee making facilities.

Honeymoon Bush Villa

There are two Honeymoon Villas, each comprising a spacious, open-plan bedroom and bathroom with bath, double vanity, separate shower, and toilet. The open fireplace is perfect for cosying up on cool winter nights.

These dreamy villas have private plunge pools set on an elevated deck with spectacular views of the African bushveld below. The Honeymoon Villas offer total seclusion and privacy, and the king-size four-poster bed is romantically draped with dreamy white mosquito nets.

Family Room

Perfect for families or couples travelling together, the two Safari Family Rooms comprise two separate bedrooms, each with its own ensuite shower. The two rooms share a common entrance. Although these rooms are side by side, they afford guests maximum privacy while parents have peace of mind knowing their children are in the next-door bedroom.

The rooms are open-plan and spacious, with private shower rooms and glass sliding doors opening onto the viewing deck. Bushveld vistas bring the sights and sounds of an authentic African experience. The decks are built to ensure that guests can enjoy the views in total privacy from their neighbours.
