Nestled just north of the Musiara area, Tangulia Mara Camp boasts an enviable location that provides easy access to some of the most thrilling game drives in the Masai Mara region of Kenya. From exploring the Musiara Marsh to traversing the short grass plains and Rhino Ridge, you'll have the opportunity to venture into the Reserve or venture across the iconic Mara River bridge into the Mara Triangle, on the river's western side. Both of these areas are renowned for their rich biodiversity and offer unparalleled opportunities for wildlife encounters, especially with the majestic big cats. And if you're fortunate enough to visit during the migration season, you'll be in a prime position to witness the dramatic river crossings.
The name "Tangulia" holds special significance, as it means "to lead" in Kiswahili, and this concept lies at the heart of the camp's mission. With over twenty-five years of guiding experience in the Mara, the camp's owners, Jackson Looseyia and Dominic Nchoe, are not just hosts; they are your expert guides to unlocking the secrets of Maasai culture, traditions, beliefs, and the incredible knowledge of the local fauna and flora.
Tangulia Mara Camp offers a total of seven ensuite tents, each providing a cosy and comfortable retreat. Additionally, there's a family tent, consisting of two ensuite bedrooms with a shared sitting area, ensuring that your stay is not only educational but also accommodating for families and groups. Luxury Double or Twin Tents
The luxury double or twin tents are positioned spaciously with views over the salt lick towards the Mara River. Imagine yourself on a sprawling wooden deck that gracefully embraces the front of our camp's cosy sitting area. Here, you can savour the unique privilege of observing the untamed beauty of wildlife as they freely come and go, all without having to venture far from the comfort of your surroundings. It's like having a front-row seat to nature's grand spectacle, right at your doorstep.

Family Tent
The Family Tent at Tangulia has two ensuite bedrooms (a double and a twin). The bathrooms are plumbed with flush loos and hot and cold running water. A verandah stretches across the front of the unit with fantastic views of the river.
As you step inside, you'll discover that our camp's interior décor is a tribute to its Maasai ownership, celebrating the rich culture and heritage of this remarkable community. What makes our camp even more special is that our furniture is not just furniture; it's a work of art crafted right here, on-site, from fallen indigenous trees. Each piece carries with it the essence of the land and a story waiting to be shared.
