There is a vitality at Lewa House that makes you feel very alive. Whether it's the dawn setting fire to the peaks of Mt Kenya, the cold air on your cheeks in the morning or the playfulness of a passing elephant, it's always spceial and it's always unique.
Hosted by owners Sophie and Calum Macfarlane, Lewa House is set on top of a hill with an engaging panoramic view of the rolling landscape of the Conservancy, and overlooks the luggas (valleys) and hills, with the horizon rising to the eye-catching views of the Mathews Range and the sacred mountain of the Samburu, Ol Lolokwe.
The conservancy is an award-winning model for community conservation and a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a spectacular density and diversity of wildlife. Lewa House is a fourth-generation owned and managed bush home made up of the main house, four earth pod rooms constructed with sustainable materials and three thatched family cottages. Beautiful shaded gardens and a swimming pool overlook a waterhole providing some of the best game viewing in Lewa.
The property features 3 family cottages (2 adjoining ensuite rooms - 1 double and 1 twin, not interconnected) and 4 individual Earthpods with ensuite bathrooms. a maximum of 18 guests are on property. Children of all ages are welcome.
Lewa House's lodge is the beauty of simplicity. The house sits in an elevated position in the middle of the conservancy. The rooms are made with local materials, built in a very organic way, nestled unobtrusively into the landscape.

Earth Pods
The latest additions to Lewa House are four rooms (or earth pods). Their novel architecture is designed to disappear into the landscape, collect and store rainwater and maintain an even temperature. They have a simple, elegant décor that compliments their views over the Northern Frontier of Kenya.

Family Cottages
These charming cottages are part of the original house. They are built using the traditional Lewa architecture of rough stone walls and thatched roofs and are furnished with beautiful rough-hewn hardwood furniture. The cottages consist of a double and twin room, each with an en-suite bathroom. Adjoining the two bedrooms is a large verandah where a family can sit and enjoy.
