Kiota Camp

The trees of the central Serengeti hide some of the wild's most intricate creations - an infinitely diverse array of woven nests (kiota, in swahili). Like the bird, Chaka have woven Kiota Camp into the Seronera Valley's hills as a relief from a long day's adventure.

Kiota Camp is permanently located in the Central Serengeti, taking advantage of the year round wildlife viewing the Seronera Valley and nearby areas have to offer. The Central Serengeti is famed for its healthy population of large cats, permanent game around the Seronera River, and Rettima Hippo Pool. Kiota is the sister camp of Chaka Camp. Combining Kiota and Chaka Camps for a four to six night stay in the Serengeti ecosystem is an excellent way to see many different areas of the vast wildlife area.

Situated in the heart of the central Serengeti with one main tent and 10 very spacious guest tents, all ensuite bathrooms, with a flushing toilet and a bucket shower, and each tent has their own private shaded veranda. This camp is a permanent tented camp and has magnificent views of wildlife all year round. It also offers an authentic safari experience and activities include dining under the stars, game drives and balloon safaris.

Birds play have an important part in Kiota's design and atmosphere. Hand-painted lilac-breasted rollers decorate the bed covers and every side table holds an ornithology reference and a pair of binoculars.

Canvas Tents

With only ten spacious tents, the camp maintains a quiet presence within the surrounding woodlands and grasslands. The Seronera airstrip is only twenty minutes away, and many of the most famous landscape featues and game concentrations can be almost immediately accessed.
