Set deep in the heart of the African interior on a stretch of secluded golden beach, Kungwe Beach Lodge is the perfect blend of comfort and luxury in a romantic setting.
Kungwe Camp is a romantic beach and forest lodge set on a dramatic stretch of secluded golden beach accessible by dhow boat. With a backdrop chain of wild, jungle-draped mountains, the lodge is ideally positioned along the beach of beautiful Lake Tanganyika. This camp is very well suited to Chimp trekking. There are 10 light and spacious thatched safari style rooms on the edge of the forest canopy, all with en-suite bathrooms with showers and toilet. Private decking with views of the lake and the beach. It is a short walk to main area of the lodge for some unbelievable dining and relaxing. Additional activities include hiking in the forest to view birds & butterflies, boat safaris, kayaking, fishing excursions or simply just relax on the beach. Kungwe is the sister camp to Katuma Bush Lodge in Katavi.
The light, airy and spacious tents are scattered along the beach and furnished in the traditional African safari style. The secluded patio’s offer wide views extending over the lake.
Thatched Tented Rooms
The 10 tented rooms are set back on the edge of the beach just into the undergrowth, raised on wooden platforms. The tented rooms are very spacious with en suite bath rooms.
