In the centre of Katavi National Park lies Katuma Camp, a charming bush lodge that offers a riveting bush experience with breathtaking views over the vast plains of Katisunga.
Katuma Camp has been designed to blend in with its surroundings to avoid distraction from the beauty of Katavi National Park. The lodge depicts an African simplicity and is an idyllic base for exploring the spectacular wildlife of this remote and wild park. Daily movements can be watched of game between grazing on the plains and the last remaining pools of water in the Katuma during the dry and witness the dramas unfold.
Katuma consists of 11 safari style canvas rooms under a thatched roof on raised platforms on the edge of the flood plains. The Sable Suite is available for an exclusive private experience. Each room has an en suite bathroom with all the amenities expected. The main area is a raised thatched area with large decking for dining and relaxing around the swimming pool overlooking the plains. Activities include morning and afternoon 4 x 4 game drives, night drives and birdwatching.

Safari Style Canvas Rooms
Each of the 10 spacious canvas and thatch bedrooms are built on raised hardwood platforms and have large private verandahs and power points for charging electrical equipment like iPods or digital cameras. Comfortably furnished with 4-poster beds draped in mosquito netting, the bedrooms also have sturdy writing desks where you may find yourself, pen in hand, drinking in the endless view. Your supply of bottled water will be replenished regularly and the en suite bathrooms have hot showers with good water pressure and flushing toilets.
Sable Suite
An exclusive private suite with two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a dressing room, lounge area, dining area, TV and A/C. Remarkable views of the floodplains from a vast deck, which also comprises of an outdoor bath, day bed and sun loungers.
