Where can I get my Lions Tour match tickets?
Whilst Tailormade Africa is not an official partner or sub-agent of The British and Irish Lions (BIL) or Lions Rugby Travel, please do get in touch with us regarding match tickets and how to book these. Our packages include some unbelievable add-ons that will leave you wanting to visit the beautiful country of South Africa again and again.
What are the Lions Tour 2021 dates?
There are a number of warm-up matches for the Lions against provincial & invitation teams from 3 July to 17 July 2021. The first test between the Lions & the Boks takes place on Saturday 24 July in Johannesburg, the second test on Saturday 31 July in Cape Town and the final decider is back in Johannesburg on Saturday 7 August 2021.
When will the 2021 Lions squad be announced?
We have been through and are still experiencing the grips of coronavirus & what it has done to rugby (and all sport). So coronavirus permitting, the British Lions coach Warren Gatland will announce his squad for the Lions tour to South Africa in May 2021. We cannot wait to see who will make the squad.

The Rich History of the British & Irish Lions Tour
As we are sure you're well aware - South Africa is synonymous with the British & Irish Lions. It is where the modern-day legend of the Lions was cast into history thanks to the feats of Willie John McBride's invincibles in 1974 and the triumph sealed under Martin Johnson in 1997.
Lions Tour to South Africa 2021
But there is more to South Africa than simply rugby, and don't we know it? As specialists in the region, we are chuffed to bits that the Lions Tour is back in South Africa again. South Africa is one of the best countries to visit in the world (yes, we may be biased). Charming, warm and unbelievably wonderful people, a hugely diverse landscape perfect for exploring, and a history which will keep you intrigued and learning every second you spend on the ground.
The British & Irish Lions will play three Test matches against the Springboks on Saturday the 24th of July in Johannesburg, Saturday the 31st of July in Cape Town and then a potential series decider on Saturday the 07th of August back in Johannesburg. And with five other matches that will also take place in Port Elizabeth, Durban, Nelspruit and Pretoria, this is not only a journey to the home of the reigning World Champions but an adventure to one of the greatest countries on the planet.
Tailor Your Lions Tour of South Africa
The best news of all? We can help you plan your Lions Tour with just one phone call! Here at Tailormade Africa, we can help you book your visit with lovely accommodation in any (or all!) of the cities where the games are happening. And, if you're up for some R&R at the start or end of your exciting Rugby fix, we can help you there, too!
There is so much to love about South Africa, and we think you'll agree. Not only is it rich from a land-based wildlife perspective, offering some of the best opportunities for a big five safari on the continent, but it also boasts a vast coastline which is equally as rich in marine life with seals, whales and great white sharks galore. If you aren't into photography, we can guarantee you will be by the end of a trip here!
Lions Tour Package Add-ons
If you're keen to make the most of your journey to the most southern tip of Africa, we're delighted to let you know that South Africa is incredibly well connected with other stunning safari locations around the continent. As specialists in the region, we can help you plan an 'extender' to your Lions Tour itinerary entirely bespoke.
If you already have your own allocation of tickets we would still love to help you fill out your time in between the Tests. Be that on safari in South Africa or in Neighbouring Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia or Zambia. Exploring the Garden Route of the Western Cape, Whale spotting on the Whale Coast or taking in the dramatic scenery and history of KwaZulu Natal. Tailormade Africa has secured accommodation in some of the very best locations and accommodations in all these regions and can take care of all the travel arrangements leaving you to just have a stress free Lions Tour of Southern Africa.
Or why not try something more chilled out like some beach time in Mozambique or the Seychelles? Ultimately, we are here to help so feel free to pick up the phone and give us a call.
Explore the rich history of South Africa
You're also sure to feel completely awed by the life-affirming history of the country. Around every corner, you will find something new and at each opportunity, you will get to truly understand the fabric of South Africa and appreciate how far the country has come. We're huge fans of the many museums around. We would highly recommend a visit to Robben Island, where you can have a tour of the prison where Mandela was incarcerated – a tour given by one of the previous inmates. Such history is quite overwhelming, and South Africa really has lived it all.
Explore South Africa's famous Winelands
If wildlife and history aren't the two things that come to mind when you think of South Africa, we're pretty sure wine will be. The vineyards around Cape Town, the 'actual' Winelands region, plus further along the west and southern coast, you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to selecting your preferred grape. We also think that South Africa should be celebrated for the incredible food on offer. Tucking into some of the best seafood on the continent with a glass of something chilled truly is bliss! Mouth-watering steaks with a Merlot – delish. Or, if you're more into Vegetarian or Veganism, then you're in the best place for it. The farms in the country provide some of the freshest, most delicious (and sometimes obscure) fruits and veggies which will satisfy even the staunchest carnivore!
