Named after Elsa the lioness, made famous by George and Joy Adamson’s biographical book and film Born Free, Elsa’s Kopje remains one of the most elegant lodges in Africa, located in one of the most spectacular settings. Nestled into Mughwango Hill, the lodge enjoys panoramic views over the Meru plains from almost any point within the grounds.

Every cottage offers the perfect "room-with-a-view," uniquely designed and crafted to incorporate the natural features of the rocky hillside. An elegant and comfortable lounge and dining area, gorgeous infinity pool, and stunning sundowner view point help make Elsa’s Kopje the ultimate safari retreat.

Each cottage is crafted around the rocks, with a large bedroom, open sitting room, veranda and spacious bathroom, each with breathtaking views.

Cottages

Nestled into the hillside, and overlooking the vast plains of Meru National Park, each of Elsas Kopjes open-fronted cottages consist of a main bedroom, en suite bathroom and private deck. Cottage 3 has a private sitting room rather than a deck. Two of the cottages can fit one extra bed, to accommodate children under the age of 16yrs.

Honeymoon Cottages

Overlooking the vast plains of Meru National Park, Elsas has three Honeymoon Suites. Two of the suites have romantic outside baths and one suite has three levels featuring a private sitting room, main bedroom with en-suite bathroom, and a small private deck.

Family Cottage

With panoramic views of the Park. The Family Cottage is a spacious 2-bedroom cottage with a double and a twin room, both en-suite, a beautiful living room, a large private deck and an outside bath by the master bedroom.

Private House

Overlooking the vast plains of Meru National Park and facing Mt Kenya, Elsas Private House consists of one en-suite master bedroom with dressing room, one en-suite twin bedroom, a large dining and sitting room, a private garden and an infinity swimming pool. The Private House can fit two extra beds, for children under 16yrs.
