Day 6 - Climbing Kilimanjaro with Tailormade Africa

Day 6 of climbing Kilimanjaro is dubbed 'the calm before the storm' by Will, as midnight seems them attempt the summit. The views from the height the group are at can only be described as a marvellous spectacle.

The group of hikers set off from Karanga Camp at 3995 metres for a three to four-hour trek up to base camp called Barafu at 4673 metres. After spending a few days climbing at the same height to acclimatise, the group was happy to be ascending closer to Uhuru Peak.

The group arrives a little earlier at Barafu than they have the previous few days, which is a sign that things are going to be a little different with summit day only hours away.

The summit attempt is preceded by a short acclimatisation walk before the 12 am summit climb commences. Stay tuned for an epic Day 7 video which features the summit, ultimately what everyone looks forward to when climbing Kilimanjaro.
