The iconic African feel when cycling in Mashatu Game Reserve in Botswana

Situated in the Tuli Block in south-east Botswana, a Tailormade Africa favourite is Mashatu Game Reserve an incredibly beautiful and diverse region: ideal cycling country with a more iconic African feel. This area provides a fantastic opportunity to ride at leisure along ancient elephant migration paths, cycle through vast herds of wildlife and sleep under starlit African skies. Cycling trips are run independently from each lodge by a dedicated team who arrange the most spectacular mountain and gravel biking experiences.

There are several accommodation options including Mashatu Lodge and Mashatu Tented Camp for that ‘out of this world’ wildlife experience during your cycling adventure or perhaps at the end to relax and unwind.

Here is a candid review of Mashatu Game Reserve .

South Africa is a cycling enthusiasts playground

In South Africa, mountain riders can explore the Battlefields, Lesotho and the Wild Coast. Cycle the natural trails and wagon routes used by many of the soldiers and warriors when the British invaded Zululand in 1879 and continue to explore epic trails in Lesotho. Fat biking on the West Coast is an awesome experience.

This event is South Africa’s answer to the Prudential RideLondon but with far more superior scenery! Whether for charity or personal achievement, the 108km Cape Town Cycle Tour attracts riders from around the world.

Go off-road

During the same week, riders can take part in the MTB Challenge, an off-road event through the Cape Winelands . With 20km, 40km and 60km routes the MTB Challenge offers top mountain biking for newbies and world champions. Entries, however, are limited, so you have to be quick, and Tailormade Africa can help you with all aspects of your entry as well as personalised pre or post-challenge African adventure to make the most of your time on the Cape.
